The Puppy Pros Approach

Your dog isn’t the problem. You just need the right guide.

You’ve tried the YouTube videos. The training apps. Maybe another trainer or two. Nothing has actually stuck, and you’re starting to wonder if your dog is just broken.

Most dogs don’t need harsher training. They need clearer guidance, and an owner who’s been taught what to do when things get hard.

Tonya Napoli, founder of Puppy Pros Training
Meet Tonya

I’ve been where you are.

My own dog was reactive. I know what it feels like to dread every walk.

I spent 20 years in corporate before leaving to build Puppy Pros Training. The reason? I saw too many families giving up on dogs that weren’t broken, they just needed the right approach. My own journey with a reactive dog taught me that most training fails because it focuses on the wrong thing: controlling the dog instead of empowering the owner.

Today I specialize in helping families transform their dogs through private, milestone-based programs that actually stick. Not harsh corrections. Not endless group classes. Just real behavior change, for the life of your dog.

Real dogs. Real families. Real results.

Don’t just take our word for it. Hear from families who’ve been where you are.

I can’t thank Tonya enough! Walks used to be stressful because my dog would get so worked up at the sight of other dogs. Tonya was patient, calm, and showed us how to stay relaxed and confident. She’s patient, encouraging, and made training fun. Highly recommend her!

Tonya did a fantastic job creating a custom guide for Bella. She was incredibly understanding of Bella’s reactivity and provided excellent strategies for managing her anxiety. She treated Bella with such kindness, and her training instructions were clear and easy to follow. I’m looking forward to booking more lessons with her in the future.

My daughter has a husky puppy (and I hope she doesn’t read this) but he was difficult to handle. Jumped, wouldn’t come when called, took food out of the kids’ hands. She did online training with Tonya and when I heard this I didn’t think this would work… but… it DID!!! I was amazed with the change of behavior!

Life changing! My 6-year-old rescue Aussiedoodle pulled like a freight train, making walking virtually impossible. From our first meeting with Tonya, I knew he’d be in good hands. We set clear goals and Tonya gave me constant support in between sessions so I never felt alone. Now I walk him with ease, Maverick is more relaxed, confident and happier, and I look forward to each of our walks, just like I had envisioned.

Questions before you book

The questions most owners ask me first.

How much does training cost?
Every dog and family is different. A puppy foundation (BUILD) runs one way. An adult behavior transformation (TRANSFORM) runs another. That’s exactly why we do the free consult first, so I can understand what you need to solve and quote you something real instead of a generic price for a generic program. Expect a premium, private service. Payment plans are available.
What happens on the free consult?
I come to your home (or hop on a video call, if you’re remote) for about 30 minutes. I meet your dog, watch the behavior that’s driving you up the wall, and give you an honest read on what’s going on and what program, if any, makes sense. No sales pressure. Worst case you leave with a plan you can try on your own.
My dog has bitten before. Will you take us?
Yes, bite-history dogs are a large part of what I do in the TRANSFORM program. The consult is where we figure out if we’re the right team. If your situation is out of my scope or ability, I’ll point you in the right direction to get you the help you need, that might be another trainer I trust, a veterinary behaviorist, or a different resource entirely. Either way, you’ll leave with a real next step.
Is this in-person, or can you help me remotely?
In-person across Brevard County, Florida: Melbourne, Palm Bay, Satellite Beach, Indialantic, Viera, Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, Titusville. Outside that, I run a video-coached REMOTE program with the same structure. Some cases are actually better served by video anyway, especially aggression and anxiety work where a stranger in the home is the exact trigger we’re trying to manage. I’ll tell you honestly on the consult whether in-person or virtual is the right fit for you.
What kind of training methods do you use?
We use a balanced approach: positive reinforcement as the foundation, paired with clear communication and fair, proportional accountability when your dog already knows the rules. Every dog we train learns a simple four-word marker system (Yes, Good, Free, No) so they always know when they’ve got it right. We focus on real-world results, meaning behavior that holds up at the front door, on walks, and in everyday family life, not just obedience in a quiet room. What we don’t do: fear, force, or intimidation.
How long until I see results?
Most families see real changes in the first week or two, often on the exact issues driving them crazy (pulling, jumping, not listening). Our programs run on a 6-week structure and most dogs graduate right on that timeline. Every dog is different, so we track progress every session and you’ll always know where you stand.
What if I’ve worked with another trainer and it didn’t stick?
You’re in the majority of my clients, honestly. Most of the time it didn’t stick because the training focused on the dog in a session, but didn’t give you the tools to carry it into real life at home. I train both ends of the leash: your dog learns the skills, and you learn exactly how to reinforce them so the results actually hold. The consult is a zero-pressure place to talk through what’s worked, what hasn’t, and how I do it differently.
